Remote Senior Site Reliability Engineer - Databases Job in UK Grafana Labs

Who you are

• Strong engineering background with at least 6 years of experience including 3 years in SRE roles
• Capable of engaging in deep technical conversations with other engineers and customers and collaborate across organizational boundaries
• Experience with Kubernetes on AWS GCP or Azure and working with Helm charts or other IaC tools
• Experience with Site Reliability Engineering Large System Design and Distributed Computing
• Proficient in one or more programming languages such as Go Python or Java
• Knowledgeable in Linux operating systems internals networking cloud storage and scaling
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Comfortable active participant in blame-free Incident Response writing high quality Post Incident Reviews
• Encouraged to have a strong sense of autonomy and self-direction
• Value intellectual curiosity transparency high bias towards action and kindness

What the job involves

• Support high-value Grafana Cloud customers by increasing the reliability of cloud databases based on Mimir Loki Tempo and Pyroscope
• Own and configure software via Helm charts and Jsonnet
• Shepherd releases to ensure no degradation to SLOs or user experience
• Directly contribute to design documents code PR review and other engineering activities to improve reliability
• Improve observability of the customer stack and make recommendations for better use of the system
• Participate in shared on-call duties focusing on customer experience while being supported by another on-call engineer
