Requirements

  • 10–20 years of progressive experience in finance operations and organizational management with meaningful nonprofit or advocacy experience
  • Strong background in nonprofit financial management including GAAP compliance fund accounting audit oversight and grant reporting
  • Experience managing affiliated 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) entities
  • Familiarity with lobbying expenditure tracking and campaign finance compliance across c3/c4 structures
  • Proven track record managing outsourced vendors and professional service firms across accounting legal and HR
  • Experience overseeing HR functions including compliance compensation performance management and organizational development
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with comfort presenting to staff funders and Board members
  • Experience with organizational systems design process improvement and scaling operational infrastructure
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Bill.com Expensify and Google Workspace
  • Collaborative solutions-oriented leader with high emotional intelligence and commitment to mission

Day to day

  • Lead finance and operations strategy for a growing nonprofit, aligning internal systems and resources with mission priorities
  • Oversee financial stewardship, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, audits, cash flow management, and compliance across affiliated entities
  • Manage operations, HR, legal, technology, and vendor relationships while strengthening culture, staff support, and organizational infrastructure

Hiring process
