Requirements
- At least 4 years’ experience in digital journalism for US audiences
- Excellent understanding of the US news landscape and audience interests
- Experience working on newsletters or other audience-focused products
- Strong portfolio with exceptional writing and editing skills
- Comfort making confident editorial decisions in a fast-moving news environment
- Proven ability to produce clean accurate copy under pressure and meet deadlines
- Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT or Claude for research and editorial workflows
- Ability to evaluate AI outputs for accuracy bias and tone
- Comfortable collaborating across teams and adapting to evolving workflows
- Experience using analytics tools such as Parsely or Google Analytics to inform decisions
Day to day
- Lead the daily production of Yahoo’s Yodel newsletter with an engaging voice for a US audience.
- Collaborate with editors to select stories and shape each edition with accuracy balance and clarity.
- Pitch write and edit US-focused news pieces while identifying original angles and explainers that add value.
- Use analytics and AI-assisted tools to refine workflows improve performance and support editorial decisions.
