Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Degree or vocational training in mechanical engineering or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of two years recent experience as a ShipConstructor Drafter/Modeler.
  • Proficiency in ShipConstructor software with strong 3D modeling skills.
  • Knowledge of CAD including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Experience with DoD/NAVSEA contracts is advantageous.
  • ShipConstructor certifications such as SSI Certified User Specialist are preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Day to day

  • Create complex 3D models and assemblies using ShipConstructor.
  • Collaborate with engineers and designers on CAD models.
  • Generate precise technical drawings to communicate design intent.
  • Assist in optimizing designs for manufacturing efficiency.
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure accuracy and adherence to standards.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to meet project goals.
  • Identify and resolve design issues and provide innovative solutions.
  • Stay updated with ShipConstructor software and industry practices.
  • Maintain records of design files and documentation for revisions.
