What the job involves

• Help Shopify run its planet scale systems by enabling our engineering teams to create resilient systems
• Build and improve tools to keep our platform resilient and performant
• Define Resiliency and Site Reliability Engineering for Shopify
• Impact production systems underpinning commerce for millions of merchants
• Go on-call and respond to alerts and execute playbooks
• Identify gaps in processes and improve tools to support incident management
• Develop production tooling to improve our platform’s resilience
• Clean up signal noise to better understand our platform and debug issues efficiently
• Ensure we never fail for the same reason twice
