Who you are

• Experience leading large, cross-functional projects or product domains
• Track record of navigating technical and cultural change in a large organization
• Professional-level proficiency with either Java or Javascript
• Experience developing tooling for other engineers
• Product-centric mindset with understanding of business needs
• Technical and interpersonal skills to design scalable systems and engineering solutions
• Strong senses of empathy and curiosity for building user-centric products
• Comfortable in a loosely coupled but tightly aligned environment

Desirables

• Experience with Go or Kotlin in a production setting
• Prior experience developing JetBrains or VS Code plugins
• Experience designing or implementing UIs (web, IDE, mobile)

What the job involves

• Work with partner teams to develop and ship useful defaults to thousands of Netflix engineers at scale
• Drive further integrations between VS Code JetBrains IDEs and Dev Workspaces, equipping Netflix engineers with superior development environments
• Build tooling and processes to enhance the productivity of Netflix engineers through easier writing, building, testing, and distributing of IDE plugins
• Lead the development of web-based UIs for Dev Workspaces and IDE management tooling
• Use significant JavaScript or Java experience to advise peers on best practices and patterns
• Provide mentorship to colleagues at varying levels of experience on and off the team
