Requirements
- 5+ years pre-sales engineering experience selling SaaS products
- Customer-facing experience in consulting or support ideally pre-sales
- Ability to explain complex technical ideas clearly and quickly
- Experience with at least one network security protocol such as OAuth OAuth2 SAML or LDAP
- Hands-on experience in web mobile backend development or IP-based real-time communications
- Understanding of core application security concerns including password hashing SSL/TLS encryption at rest XSS and XSRF
- Exceptional communication skills
- Confidence presenting to highly skilled audiences
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering Computer Science MIS or comparable field preferred
Day to day
- Partner closely with the sales team as the technical expert in customer-facing engagements to explain the value of Okta’s solutions.
- Diagnose customer challenges through detailed discovery questions and deliver tailored product demonstrations that match business needs.
- Plan and run proof-of-concepts for complex use cases while collaborating with other engineering teams and sharing best practices across the Solutions Engineering organization.
