Remote Sr. API Technical Writer Job in United States Smartsheet

Who you are

• 5+ years of experience writing documentation for developers and IT professionals or equivalent work experience
• BA in English, Technical Communication, Computer Science, or a related discipline or equivalent experience
• Understanding of OpenAPI specifications and related tools
• Proficiency with Swagger, Redocly, Docker, Markdown, and Git
• Strong command of English language (C1 and above)
• Experience with content production from draft to publication
• Experience creating screenshots and visual diagrams

Desirables

• Experience creating screenshots and/or visual diagrams to promote understanding of complex ideas
• Experience with content production, for example, moving a document from a draft stage in one tool and formatting and publishing it from another tool
• Smartsheet Product Certification preferred by not required

What the job involves

• Plan, develop, and maintain customer-facing content for the Smartsheet OpenAPI documentation and product Help Center
• Work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Field Operations to produce developer-facing content
• Drive content projects from planning through post-launch analytics and manage content production tasks
• Review other writers' work and mentor their development
• Compile internal change requests and customer feedback to recommend and implement content changes
