Requirements
- Experience working as a Technical Artist in the games industry
- Proven track record of contributing high quality technical art work to games (examples greatly preferred)
- Experience with Unreal Engine 5 essential
- Experience with C++, Unreal Shaders and Unreal Blueprints in an AAA game creation context
- General experience across all areas of game art creation: 3D and 2D art, animations, UI and open world environments
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, written and verbal
- Enjoys working in remote teams and thrives in an environment where everyone works flexibly online
Nice to have
- Experience optimizing open world, modern-setting AAA games
- Understanding of games-as-platforms, modding, “UGC” platforms like Roblox or Fortnite UEFN
- Live Ops and/or Platform experience
- Understanding of GTA Roleplay or equivalent servers (FiveM)
Day to day
- Manage the HELIX art pipeline, ensuring assets can be created and integrated fast and easily
- Create guidelines and benchmarking tests to ensure assets on HELIX are correctly made and performant
- Optimize assets for better performance, evaluating tradeoffs between quality and game performance
- Work with artists and programmers to create performant shaders and visual effects that look great and can be used and modified liberally by our creator community
- Ensure our large-scale open world environments perform well across all target platforms
