Requirements

  • Experience working as a Technical Artist in the games industry
  • Proven track record of contributing high quality technical art work to games (examples greatly preferred)
  • Experience with Unreal Engine 5 essential
  • Experience with C++, Unreal Shaders and Unreal Blueprints in an AAA game creation context
  • General experience across all areas of game art creation: 3D and 2D art, animations, UI and open world environments
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, written and verbal
  • Enjoys working in remote teams and thrives in an environment where everyone works flexibly online

Nice to have

  • Experience optimizing open world, modern-setting AAA games
  • Understanding of games-as-platforms, modding, “UGC” platforms like Roblox or Fortnite UEFN
  • Live Ops and/or Platform experience
  • Understanding of GTA Roleplay or equivalent servers (FiveM)

Day to day

  • Manage the HELIX art pipeline, ensuring assets can be created and integrated fast and easily
  • Create guidelines and benchmarking tests to ensure assets on HELIX are correctly made and performant
  • Optimize assets for better performance, evaluating tradeoffs between quality and game performance
  • Work with artists and programmers to create performant shaders and visual effects that look great and can be used and modified liberally by our creator community
  • Ensure our large-scale open world environments perform well across all target platforms
