Requirements

  • HNC level or equivalent in a relevant aviation-related subject or recognised engineering apprenticeship with aircraft maintenance and overhaul experience
  • Detailed knowledge of EAGLE/EPS is essential
  • Knowledge of rotary wing aircraft is essential preferably Merlin or Wildcat
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a technical author
  • Detailed knowledge of supportability and air publication specifications including ASD S1000D Def-Stan 00-60 and S2000M
  • Good working knowledge of Simplified Technical English ASD-STE-100
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings
  • Knowledge of Enovia and Catia is desirable
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work to changing deadlines under pressure
  • Flexibility to work independently and as part of a team

Day to day

  • Create, edit and maintain aerospace technical documents in EAGLE/EPS, including CMM, AMM and IPC publications.
  • Populate illustrated parts data and produce high-quality technical documentation to agreed specifications and timelines.
  • Support verification and validation activities, manage document revisions, and work closely with platform leads and other authors.
