Who you are

• Care deeply about functional written communication
• Technical writer with a programmer's mindset or a programmer with a record of producing excellent documentation
• Record of community engagement in open-source software, documentation, or research
• Demonstrates technical curiosity and enthusiasm
• Experience in software development contexts including Linux, command line, application deployment, Git, etc
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Hold a BSc/BA degree or equivalent
• Able to travel twice a year for up to two weeks for events

What the job involves

• Lead the team effort to create, maintain and improve documentation for a specific Canonical product area
• Collaborate with various teams to develop clear documentation for complex technical topics
• Be part of establishing documentation as a first-class engineering discipline
