Who you are

  • Possess 10+ years of commercial software development experience
  • Demonstrate 3+ years of leading and managing teams effectively
  • Ability to participate in cross-functional teams in fast-paced environments with technical leadership and hands-on coding skills
  • Strong analytical skills with expertise in breaking down complex problems into simple solutions
  • Proficient in writing clean, efficient code and troubleshooting production issues
  • Experience in building scalable and distributed software and data systems
  • Knowledge of data and software architecture/design, real-time distributed data streaming designs
  • Familiarity with AWS/Azure cloud platforms, object-oriented programming (Java/Scala/Python), and SQL

Desirables

  • Remote team management
  • Customer data platform and CRM tools exposure
  • BigQuery or Google Cloud experience
  • DBT exposure
  • Apache Airflow or DAG frameworks experience
  • Data engineering expertise (Spark, PySpark, Java, Docker, cloud native DWH, Kafka/Confluence etc.)
  • Microservices development with Java Spring Boot

  • Build and lead a high-performing technical team by hiring, training, and mentoring engineers
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture and champion effective Agile development processes
  • Develop project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation strategies, ensuring timely and within scope delivery
  • Show leadership as a hands-on developer in multiple software and data stack layers
  • Collaborate with principal engineer on technology strategy and roadmap, aligning with organizational vision
  • Prioritize product features and engineering tasks in coordination with Product Manager and business owner
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure project alignment and timelines
  • Define and enforce engineering best practices for high-quality deliverables
