Who you are

• 3+ years of experience in a SaaS, IT, or developer-focused environment writing customer-facing documentation
• Strong attention to detail and mastery of sentence structure and grammar
• Comfortable reading and understanding code in multiple languages
• Proactive in solving problems and delivering results
• Ability to quickly learn new concepts and software
• Experience working with Markdown, Asciidoc, or similar markup languages
• Proficient in using Git and GitHub
• Familiar with basic image editing tools

Desirables

• Elasticsearch experience
• Open source project commitment
• Command line proficiency
• Scripting ability

What the job involves

• Guide users through the installation, configuration, and administration of the Elastic Stack
• Collaborate closely with engineers, marketing, and other technical staff to document new features and update content
• Follow a Git-based software development process and utilize Git and GitHub effectively
• Edit and review documentation contributions from Elastic employees and the community
• Proactively identify documentation issues and contribute to their improvement
• Test products and their documentation for accuracy and consistency
