Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in GIS Geography Earth Sciences Engineering or a related field preferred
  • 1-2 years of technical writing experience
  • 1-2 years of GIS software experience
  • Ability to interact effectively with military personnel DoD personnel and contractors
  • Strong organizational written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines with quality work
  • Problem solving ability and adaptability
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team
  • Knowledge of Microsoft and Adobe Office products
  • Experience with Esri ArcGIS Excel Access or similar applications
  • US Citizenship required
  • Ability to secure security clearance

Day to day

  • Create clear and comprehensive technical documentation that simplifies complex geospatial and technology concepts for varied audiences.
  • Collaborate closely with subject matter experts engineers product managers and other stakeholders to draft guidance policies SOPs and reports.
  • Support geospatial program work by maintaining metadata monitoring standards changes and producing maps data and documentation with GIS tools.
