Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
Demonstrated ability to keep multiple projects moving forwards in parallel
Thorough understanding of mechanical and electrical fundamentals
Experience with electrical / electro-mechanical devices involving networked micro controllers and embedded software
Proven debugging and diagnostic skills in electrical, mechanical, and software domains
Strong comprehension of embedded software development languages (C/C++)
Experience with Python
Experience with CAN / LIN / Ethernet & associated software tools
Experience with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA)
Knowledge of thermal physics principles and fluid dynamics

What the job involves
Ensure HVAC hardware and firmware is designed, implemented, and tested to meet Ford’s standards for safety and customer experience.
Select and introduce new hardware, create or refine new features and functionality, optimize performance and efficiency, as well as make the system robust and fault tolerant.
Review source code, identify root causes of issues, and develop solutions to complex problems hands on in the lab or by performing in vehicle testing.
