Requirements

  • Associates in Biology Anatomy Statistics or related field or equivalent education and experience
  • Four or more years of experience abstracting and coding in an ACS verified accredited trauma program
  • Five or more years of trauma registry experience in a Level 1 ACS verified trauma center preferred
  • Certification in Abbreviated Injury Scale Specialist CAISS within two years of hire
  • Certified Specialist in Trauma Registry CSTR within nine months of hire preferred
  • Ability to collect follow up data enter registry information and perform statistical analyses
  • Experience with injury severity scores survival analysis and automated registry systems

Day to day

  • Manages and maintains the computerized trauma registry for injury research epidemiology and quality improvement
  • Collects trauma data enters records and produces reports outcome measures and statistical analyses with accuracy and timeliness
  • Interprets medical data monitors registry quality and coordinates with internal and external partners on approved research educational and software matters
