Who you are

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Exceptional academic track record
  • High-level language experience in Go Python or C++
  • Confidence in communication and idea-sharing
  • History of exceeding expectations
  • Passion for technology with projects on WSL
  • Strong work ethic and motivation
  • Professional English proficiency
  • Linux experience preferably Debian or Ubuntu
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and flexibility
  • Appreciation for diversity and effective cross-cultural communication
  • Result-oriented with a personal drive to meet goals
  • Ability to travel internationally biannually

Desirables

  • Knowledge of Windows system capabilities
  • Experience with WSL virtualization and containers
  • Knowledge of PowerShell Visual Studio Azure DevOps
  • Familiarity with GNOME D-Bus systemd Xorg/Wayland
  • Debian or Ubuntu contributor/developer
  • Awareness of agile development methods



What the job involves

  • The Windows Subsystem for Linux bridges Linux and Windows environments allowing unique integrations between them
  • You will work closely with the Microsoft WSL team for seamless integration with Ubuntu
  • Contribute to other open source developer communities ensuring WSL compatibility with libraries and applications
  • The role involves everything from learning to improving Ubuntu system from kernel to user interface and GUI.
