Role


Who you are

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree; Associate degree can be substituted with 2 additional years of relevant experience; Or Bachelor’s degree can be substituted with 4 additional years of relevant experience
  • 4-6 years of IT experience as UI/UX designer
  • Knowledge of design concepts including interface design, prototyping, and design systems development
  • Proficiency with design tools like Sketch or Adobe XD
  • Follow best practices and standards
  • Ability to articulate design requirements to the development team
  • Understanding of Web Development best practices (HTML5, CSS3)
  • Ability to maintain a big-picture vision while defining detailed requirements
  • Ability to communicate technical expertise to management and others
  • Ability to apply and provide feedback on service operation model and practices
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • US Citizenship and ability to obtain a federal Public Trust

Desirables

  • Experience with single-page applications and REST API
  • Human-Centered Design (HCD) experience
  • Experience in product decisions from definition to release
  • Experience with federal government systems and projects
  • Experience implementing 508 Compliance



What the job involves

  • Support & implement UI/UX design modifications based on feedback in an agile environment
  • Participate in product decisions from definition to release
  • Collaborate with product owners, scrum team, and stakeholders to understand and define requirements for new and existing features
  • Work with developers to validate features during sprints and improve designs based on user research and testing
  • Contribute to development of best practices and standards used by product and engineering teams
