Remote VAT Manager Job in UK CompuGain

Who you are

• Minimum of 5-7 years in VAT Compliance
• Experience in preparation and submission of VAT returns
• Thorough understanding of UK VAT law
• Experience working for HMRC or in a consultancy role
• ACCA CIMA or ACA Qualified
• Proven track record in providing strategic VAT advisory services and planning
• Technical proficiency in accounting software like Netsuite
• Strong data analysis skills
• Advanced Excel capabilities
• Effective communication skills
• Proactive approach to risk management
• Knowledge of UK independent schools sector advantageous
• Critical thinking to solve complex VAT issues

What the job involves

• Driving Cognita UK's VAT strategy and planning in response to changes in January 2025
• Oversee reporting processes to ensure detailed VAT returns and records for audits
• Ensure adherence to VAT regulations across systems, processes, and organisational culture and identify VAT savings opportunities
• Develop and maintain VAT policies and procedures
• Provide expert VAT advisory services and address customer queries with clarity
