Afrikindness is a non-profit public-benefit organization with the primary aim of promoting acts of kindness and fostering positive racial identity development in children and young people, igniting a desire in them to make a positive impact in their communities.

Racial diversity is a key factor in our approach to promoting kindness in children and young adults. In order to demonstrate the importance of racial diversity in our interactions with each other, we must teach children to acknowledge and celebrate differences while learning to accept them too.

We believe that kindness can be taught. However, kindness cannot be developed in children through contemplation and discussion. The best way to develop kindness is to receive it and practice it.

Founded in 2021, Afrikindness, a children-based initiative, was formed to find effective solutions to social, cultural, and emotional issues that children face.

Our strategic approach is collaborative - teachers, parents, and the children empowering the latter to acquire the abilities needed to deal with obstacles, to thrive and to make a difference in their communities.

Our educational services are for children in the UK and Africa with a focus on vulnerable children and disadvantaged young people who have suffered identity crises or are from ethnically marginalized groups.

We are Afrikindness! Our focus areas are Kindness to oneself, to others, to the environment and to Africa. Our services covers these 4 areas.

Our services extend to Africa to support and strengthen the educational sector by providing kindness frameworks and content to schools.

We're looking for a social media manager and content creator to join our Communications team to help us reach more people.

You will have a key role in ensuring we can maintain the work that we do. You will be a part of our small, extremely friendly, passionate, and forward-thinking charity team. We facilitate children-led projects, provide content and educational resources that promote kindness, racial harmony in schools, build parents and teachers racial knowledge and advocate for kindness. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to make a real and lasting difference to young people. While we are unable to pay for your time, you will receive the flexibility to choose the volunteering hours that suit you and we can provide references for your great work if required.

What are we looking for?

Main responsibilities Content Creation and Curation Develop, design, and publish engaging content across various social media platforms. Create contents for social media to include reels. Managing Instagram, Tiktok and Facebook platforms. Curate relevant content from other sources to share with the audience, ensuring it aligns with the brand’s voice and strategy. Stay up-to-date with social media trends and best practices to ensure maximum effectiveness. Community Engagement and Interaction Monitor social media channels for customer inquiries, comments, and mentions. Skilled in SEO optimisation, Facebook and Instagram ads Respond to comments and messages promptly, fostering a positive community and addressing any issues or feedback. Analytics and Strategy Development Track and analyze performance metrics of social media campaigns and posts. Use data-driven insights to adjust strategies, optimize content, and report on the effectiveness of social media initiatives. Skills Proven skilled experience managing social media platforms, and a keen interest and knowledge of social media marketing especially ads and SEO optimisation Content creation - especially reels. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent written communication skills with attention to detail. Creative mindset and ability to produce engaging content relevant to our cause.
