Who you are
- Ability to effectively work remotely from home or in a downtown Sacramento office
- Completion of an online examination and authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future
- Knowledge of secure coding practices security hardening network designs implementation recommendations and troubleshooting of cloud and on-premises architecture
- Experience in establishing documenting and maintaining an application security program
- Proficiency in handling information security policy and procedures
- Knowledge of State and Federal regulation including NIST 800-53 and NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) State Information Management Manual (SIMM) or State Administrative Manual (SAM)
- Incident Response experience
- Skill in monitoring consumption of cloud resources application performance and systems security posture
- Experience with Microsoft cloud applications such as Sentinel Azure and Defender

What the job involves
- Work both independently and as part of the Information Security team to support the improvement of the department’s information security program
- Ensure the confidentiality security and availability of department information resources
- Manage cloud and on-premises information security technology systems and services
- Handle information security operations and incident response
- Conduct information security audits and assessments
- Develop and enforce information security policy procedures and compliance reporting
