Remote Chinese-speaking Legal Counsel Job in UK Socrates Global

Who you are

• Juris Doctor JD degree from an accredited law school and admission to the bar in at least one jurisdiction
• Minimum of 3 years of legal experience preferably with experience in blockchain cryptocurrency fintech or technology sectors
• Strong knowledge of financial regulations securities law AML and data privacy laws as they relate to digital assets and blockchain technology
• Experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent analytical communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a proactive and solution-oriented approach
• Familiarity with international regulatory environments and the ability to navigate cross-border legal issues is a plus
• Bilingual ability English and Chinese
• Experience in HR related matters such as labour regulations and labour disputes

What the job involves

• Provide comprehensive legal advice on all aspects of the company’s business activities including blockchain technology cryptocurrency digital assets and related regulatory compliance
• Monitor and ensure compliance with international federal and local laws and regulations including securities laws anti-money laundering AML requirements and data privacy laws
• Draft review and negotiate a wide range of legal documents including partnership agreements licensing agreements service contracts and terms of service
• Identify potential legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate those risks ensuring the company's interests are protected
• Advise on intellectual property matters including the protection of proprietary technologies trademarks and patents related to blockchain solutions
• Assist with corporate governance matters including advising on corporate structure board meetings shareholder agreements and other governance-related issues
• Manage and resolve legal disputes working with external counsel as necessary to handle litigation arbitration or other forms of dispute resolution
• Stay up-to-date with developments in blockchain technology cryptocurrency regulation and emerging legal issues in the industry to provide proactive legal guidance
• Work closely with other departments including HR Product Finance and Marketing to ensure alignment with legal and regulatory requirements
