Requirements
- 4+ years professional software engineering experience
- 2+ years leading and mentoring engineers
- Proven ownership of broadly scoped technical delivery end to end
- Strong experience with scalable systems and growth-ready design
- Familiarity with Ruby on Rails React JavaScript TypeScript Python Docker PostgreSQL and AWS
- Understanding of infrastructure automation platform security and DevOps practices
- Comfort operating production systems that handle customer data
- Hands-on with AI-enabled development tools and agentic engineering approaches
- Ability to lead through influence trust and clear communication
- Experience translating ambiguous problems into clear engineering requirements

Day to day
- Lead a pod of 4+ engineers building and maintaining Pathstream's learning and workforce-development platform
- Own team growth performance and effectiveness through 1:1s feedback performance reviews and mentoring
- Define roadmap and technical direction translate strategy into sequenced engineering work and guide delivery of broadly scoped initiatives
- Champion AI-native engineering practices coach responsible AI tool use and help the team gain real leverage
- Ensure strong operational health through on-call observability security compliance and pragmatic technical decisions
