Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with meaningful senior or staff-level time
- 2+ years managing engineering teams
- Search experience in relevance ranking or retrieval systems
- Deep expertise in TypeScript Node.js and React
- Experience designing and operating scalable microservice architectures in cloud-native environments
- Strong understanding of GraphQL event-driven systems Kafka and databases PostgreSQL OpenSearch
- Proven track record operating high-traffic low-latency production systems at scale
- Experience leading high-impact initiatives from concept through production in a SaaS environment

Day to day
- Lead and grow the Maps & Search team with hiring onboarding coaching and career development while building a healthy high-performing culture that ships consistently impactful changes.
- Stay hands-on by contributing to code and design reviews architecture decisions and thorny debugging while making strong technical trade-offs across the stack.
- Own and scale a high-throughput search platform and improve home discovery across web and mobile with a focus on relevance latency reliability engagement and lead conversion.
- Partner across product design and engineering to push AI-powered discovery using LLMs intelligent ranking and clear technical plans that drive end-to-end delivery.
