Who you are
Qualified as a solicitor, barrister or legal executive, with 5+ years PQE
Knowledge and experience of a broad range of claims and litigation types undertaken for insurers
Communication skills both verbal and written, with a proven ability to write clear, concise technical articles
Strong planning and organisation skills, with the ability to react promptly to technical developments and court decisions, producing material in a timely manner
Ability to work in a secure, sensitive & confidential environment
Desirables

What the job involves
The primary role of the FOIL Technical Author (TA) is to take responsibility for the production and provision of technical updates and periodical publications to FOIL Members and others
The TA will scan legal news feeds, select relevant topics having regard to the training, educational and technical needs of FOIL members, write a precis of the topic and send it for sign off by the relevant person(s) within FOIL
The TA will prepare write ups of selected FOIL roundtable events
The TA will also engage directly and work in parallel with the FOIL Technical Director and CEO, to ensure that focus and delivery of technical content to members and others is aligned to the core FOIL objectives and the market issues being addressed by FOIL and FOIL SFTs.
