Requirements

  • Level 5 qualification in Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD)
  • Teaching training or assessor qualification
  • Experience supporting learners with SpLD and additional learning needs
  • Strong knowledge of SEND legislation the Equality Act 2010 and reasonable adjustments
  • Experience managing learner support caseloads and targeted interventions
  • Confidence delivering staff training coaching and CPD
  • Strong analytical organisational and communication skills
  • Experience within apprenticeships FE or work-based learning is an advantage

Day to day

  • Lead and develop inclusive practice across the organisation with a strong focus on learners with SpLD, additional learning needs, and those who are disadvantaged or vulnerable.
  • Oversee the identification, monitoring, and support of learners requiring additional help, while shaping targeted interventions that improve outcomes and close achievement gaps.
  • Provide specialist advice, training, and practical support to colleagues, embedding inclusive teaching and reasonable adjustments across the learner journey.
