Who you are

• A strong understanding of the ELA curriculum and instructional practices with a passion for leveraging technology to enhance literacy learning
• Familiarity with ELA-specific data formats and standards e.g. Lexile measures reading levels
• Experience integrating with educational platforms and tools commonly used in ELA classrooms
• Interest in exploring natural language processing NLP and machine learning techniques to support ELA-related features e.g. automated feedback on writing personalized reading recommendations

What the job involves

• Develop and maintain the core platform codebase with a focus on backend components that support ELA-specific features and functionalities
• Implement and manage SSO authentication and authorization ensuring secure access to sensitive ELA resources and data
• Design and develop robust APIs to facilitate seamless integration with external ELA tools and platforms e.g. literacy assessment tools digital libraries writing platforms
• Collaborate with the ELA curriculum team to translate pedagogical requirements into technical implementations ensuring that the platform supports effective ELA instruction and learning
• Optimize backend systems for handling and processing large volumes of ELA-related data such as student writing samples reading assessments and teacher feedback
• Implement data analytics and reporting capabilities to provide insights into student progress and engagement with ELA content
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in the ELA field exploring innovative ways to enhance the platform's capabilities
