Mission Lane

Mission Lane is combining the power of data, technology, and exceptional service to pave a clear way forward for millions of people on the path to financial success. By attracting top talent and leveraging cutting-edge technology, we’re enabling people to unlock real financial progress. Sound like a mission you can get behind?
We're looking for a Model Process Manager to own end-to-end documentation and improvement of how Mission Lane develops and deploys models across all business verticals, reporting to the Principal Program Manager.
The Impact You'll Make
Behind every credit decision Mission Lane makes is a model, and behind every model is a process that determines how quickly and well Mission Lane can deliver for the people depending on those decisions. The Model Process Manager owns that process: mapping it, creating consistency across verticals, and driving the improvements that let Mission Lane build and deliver at the pace our customers' progress depends on.
In your first year, you'll build the current-state map, close undocumented handoff gaps, and stand up pipeline visibility for teams across data science, credit, risk, and compliance. By year end, you'll have driven at least one meaningful improvement: changed sequencing, reduced coordination overhead, or surfaced a dependency problem before it caused rework.
What You'll Own
The process playbook for model development, credit policy updates, and related approval flows across all verticals, from documentation through active maintenanceA centralized view of all models in flightHandoff ownership documentation at every stage of development and deployment, so accountability is clearOperational point of contact responsibilities for 2nd line credit and model risk management bank oversight
You'll Thrive In This Role If
You have a knack for seeing problems early. You notice the missing handoff or the sequencing risk, follow the thread, and don't let go until you understand it.You're comfortable being the non-technical person in a room full of data scientists. You understand how models are built, what it takes to deploy them, and how to talk about both with the people who do that work every day. You've worked across compliance, risk, engineering, and operations and know how to get people from different teams pointed in the same direction. You know that the best process in the world is only as good as the adoption behind it. You engage people early, communicate the "why" clearly, and build the trust that makes new ways of working actually take hold. You communicate with precision. Clear documentation, clear status, clear escalation. No ambiguity about who owns what or what happens next.
Minimum Qualifications
3+ years of experience in process improvement, project coordination, or program operations in financial services, fintech, or a data-heavy environmentComfortable working across technical and non-technical teams: equally effective with a data scientist and a compliance officer in the same weekClear, direct communicator in writing and in meetings, with the ability to make ownership, status, and next steps unambiguousTrack record of not just documenting processes but improving them: identifying root causes and driving fixes that stickExperience calibrating escalation to leadership, knowing what to escalate and what to handle
Compensation
Annual full-time starting base salary range: $81,000 - $95,000
This role is eligible for additional compensation in the forms of participation in our annual incentive and equity programs.

About Mission Lane
Founded in December 2018, Mission Lane is a purpose-driven fintech company based in the U.S., with headquarters in Richmond, Virginia.
It all started with a realization: nearly fifty percent of the adult population in the U.S. doesn’t have access to a clear line of credit. Most traditional credit card companies either overlook or overcharge this group because they have less-than-perfect credit scores or no scores at all. We decided this just wouldn’t do.
In partnership with our sponsor banks, we offer credit cards under the Mission Lane brand name, with better, clearer terms, and a more refined customer experience than the alternatives available to people working hard to improve their credit. To date, over four million consumers have chosen Mission Lane, earning high customer ratings on Credit Karma for its market segment and industry leading Net Promoter scores.
Mission Lane has cumulatively raised over $600 million of equity from leading investors, including Invus Opportunities, QED Investors, LL Funds, funds affiliated with Oaktree Capital Management, and other leading investors.
Our commitment to a workplace built on respect and dignity is guided by our core value of Unity. We believe that everyone plays a vital role in our shared purpose, and we actively cultivate an environment where all individuals have the opportunity to do their best work. By fostering a culture of empathy and collaboration, we create a strong sense of belonging and support for every team member.
