Requirements

  • JD from an accredited US law school
  • Active bar admission and good standing in the US state where you reside
  • Demonstrated experience drafting and negotiating contracts at a law firm or in-house legal department
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA and data privacy regulatory frameworks
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage matters with limited day-to-day supervision

Day to day

  • Draft, review, and negotiate health IT and technology agreements such as EHR/EMR purchase agreements, business associate agreements, data sharing agreements, SaaS contracts, and mobile app development agreements
  • Advise clients on HIPAA Privacy, Security, and Breach Notification Rule compliance by drafting policies and supporting breach investigations
  • Research and analyze data privacy regulations and prepare client-facing memoranda while supporting telemedicine, mHealth, and e-prescribing compliance matters
