Who you are

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Information Technology related field or equivalent work experience
  • Three (3) to ten (10) years of applicable Information Technology Development/Support experience depending on role level
  • Effective working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Unix or Linux operating systems application development and support and database management systems
  • Strong troubleshooting problem solving and analytical skills
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Competent understanding and effective working knowledge of SDLC and project life cycle methods and practices
  • Good customer service and organization skills

Desirables

  • Utility industry experience
  • C#/ASP.NET experience
  • Java or Object Oriented Development Experience
  • Oracle PL/SQL or Microsoft SQL Development Experience


What the job involves

  • Enhancing the performance and efficiency of applications and processes within SPP’s System Operations team which monitor the bulk electric grid and wholesale power markets
  • Collaborating with IT experts to develop technical solutions for various issues
  • Supporting the real-time Market Operating System and participating in a 24/7 on-call rotation
