Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Information Technology related field or equivalent work experience
- Three (3) to ten (10) years of applicable Information Technology Development/Support experience depending on role level
- Effective working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Unix or Linux operating systems application development and support and database management systems
- Strong troubleshooting problem solving and analytical skills
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Competent understanding and effective working knowledge of SDLC and project life cycle methods and practices
- Good customer service and organization skills
Nice to have
- Utility industry experience
- C#/ASP.NET experience
- Java or Object Oriented Development Experience
- Oracle PL/SQL or Microsoft SQL Development Experience
Day to day
- Enhancing the performance and efficiency of applications and processes within SPP’s System Operations team which monitor the bulk electric grid and wholesale power markets
- Collaborating with IT experts to develop technical solutions for various issues
- Supporting the real-time Market Operating System and participating in a 24/7 on-call rotation
