Who you are

• Knowledge of application security bugs, attack types, and mitigation strategies
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals
• Ability to code in one or more languages
• Above average knowledge of Windows and/or Linux and Unix variants
• Willingness to learn new technologies
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• B.S. in Computer Science, related degree, or equivalent experience

Desirables

• Completed OSCP, OSWE, or similar certification
• Understanding of application design, development, and testing techniques
• Involvement in Bug Bounty programs
• Participated in Capture the Flag events
• Knowledge of common security testing tools
• Experience with embedded, firmware, and IoT technologies
• Experience with applied cryptography and blockchain
• Detail-oriented and dependable

What the job involves

• Perform reviews and tests on web, conventional, embedded, firmware, and mobile applications
• Assess risks and circumvent security mechanisms using manual and automated techniques
• Create threat models, design security testing scenarios and analyze results
• Write detailed problem reports, test plan documents, and mitigation recommendations
• Develop penetration test automation tools and review code for vulnerabilities
• Possible travel to conduct in-person security reviews and assessments
