Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in database administration data engineering or data platform operations
- Deep hands-on expertise with Azure SQL Managed Instance and Azure SQL Database
- Deep hands-on expertise with Azure Data Factory pipeline development and administration
- Strong experience in SQL query optimization and performance tuning
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve locking blocking issues
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve data pipeline failures
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks
- Experience managing database user access and security administration
- Hands-on experience with Python and/or PowerShell scripting
- Experience with Azure DevOps for managing code and deployments
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret logs and debug data processes
- Ability to work independently in complex high-pressure environments

Day to day
- Manage and optimize Azure SQL Managed Instance and Azure SQL databases in production environments
- Design build and maintain Azure Data Factory pipelines for batch and incremental data loading
- Troubleshoot failures performance bottlenecks locking issues and data processing problems while improving platform reliability
- Own end-to-end data load processes and work collaboratively with stakeholders vendors and internal teams to resolve issues and drive durable fixes
- Develop automation with Python and PowerShell and support Azure DevOps practices for deployments and pipeline versioning
