Requirements
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience building production systems
- Experience designing and implementing complex software systems end-to-end
- Strong understanding of database modeling database transactions and data integrity across distributed systems
- Strong API design experience
- Deep knowledge of data modeling normalization query optimization and indexing
- Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB
- Experience building REST and/or GraphQL services
- Strong proficiency in a modern backend language with Node.js preferred
- Experience shipping highly reliable systems in cloud environments
- Ability to work independently and contribute to technical direction
- Experience working across cross-functional teams to deliver complex product features
- AI-forward mindset with active use of AI tools for development and analysis

Day to day
- Design and implement scalable and reliable backend systems from architecture through production deployment
- Harden and optimize the platform for stability performance and release readiness while improving maintainability
- Lead backend services APIs and data models and collaborate with Product QA and Design to solve complex business problems
- Review code debug difficult issues establish technical standards and improve engineering workflows to raise team velocity
