Requirements

  • 6+ years building production backend systems for consumer products at scale
  • Deep PHP 8.2 and Laravel experience
  • Relational data modeling at scale with MySQL MariaDB or Postgres
  • Experience with a document or NoSQL database such as Firestore
  • Infrastructure as code experience with Terraform Ansible or comparable tools
  • Comfortable working full stack with TypeScript in Electron or web apps
  • Outcome-oriented high ownership mindset
  • Ability to work through ambiguous problems independently
  • Fluent with AI coding tools and agent workflows
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Opinions on UX workflows and product surfaces
  • Self-managing and able to drive initiatives without daily check-ins

Day to day

  • Own substantial parts of the backend and stabilize the services the product depends on
  • Make architectural decisions across data models caching and latency tradeoffs while improving operational health
  • Work fluidly across backend and full-stack boundaries including Electron TypeScript when the best fix spans multiple surfaces
  • Drive cross-cutting initiatives such as observability data model debt API hygiene and performance regressions
