What the job involves
The main requirements, responsibilities and hiring steps.
Requirements
- Senior or staff-level software engineering experience with 5+ years in modern C++17/20
- Deep experience in low-latency or real-time systems
- Experience designing execution or decision layers in HFT market making or similar environments
- Experience building and profiling high-throughput low-latency Linux systems
- Hands-on experience with multithreading atomics lock-free or low-contention designs
- Network programming experience with TCP UDP sockets and epoll or similar APIs
- Experience with Linux performance tuning including scheduler CPU affinity kernel and networking parameters and NIC configuration
- Ability to reason about scheduling CPU affinity and runtime behavior
- Self-directed pragmatic and comfortable with minimal process
- Located between GMT-5 and GMT+3 time zones
Nice to have
- Crypto experience
- Exchange mechanics knowledge
- Order book dynamics
- Fast feedback mindset
- High autonomy
Day to day
- Own and evolve the core execution layer of a proprietary crypto trading system, where microseconds directly impact performance and PnL.
- Design and implement execution logic including quoting behavior, order lifecycle policies, inventory-aware execution, and risk-aware decision paths.
- Profile, tune, and optimize low-latency systems under live market conditions, improving tail latency, jitter, cache locality, allocation behavior, and stability under stress.
- Collaborate closely with traders and quantitative researchers to rapidly refine execution behavior and guide other engineers on latency-sensitive architecture.
