Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong focus on Android development
- Expertise in Kotlin and/or Java with deep knowledge of the Android SDK
- Experience building and maintaining Android background services including Services Broadcast Receivers and WorkManager
- Strong experience with media playback frameworks such as ExoPlayer or Media3
- Hands-on experience with video streaming protocols including HLS RTSP DASH or Multicast
- Solid understanding of networking concepts including sockets MQTT and WebSockets
- Experience working with hardware-accelerated video decoding such as H.264 and HEVC
- Experience optimizing application performance using Android Profiler or similar tools
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve system-level issues including memory CPU and stability
- Experience designing and building highly reliable always-on systems
Nice to have
- SoC experience
- AOSP knowledge
- WebView familiarity
- CI/CD experience
Day to day
- Design and maintain Android services and apps for headless and non-touch environments, ensuring fast boot and automatic recovery from failures.
- Optimize advanced video playback using ExoPlayer or Media3 for 4K content seamless looping and multi-zone rendering without dropped frames.
- Implement IPTV and live streaming capabilities such as HLS RTSP and Multicast with low-latency delivery robust buffer handling and remote device orchestration.
