Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience including 5+ years building and operating production services in Go
- Strong proficiency in Go concurrency and scaling real-world workloads
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and partial failure handling
- Experience building horizontally scalable services behind auto-scaling infrastructure
- Performance-oriented mindset with experience measuring latency and throughput
- Strong SQL and relational database skills including reading query plans
- Experience designing and operating multi-tenant systems with tenant isolation
- Experience supporting production systems through on-call debugging testing code review and technical design
- Deep Unix/Linux experience including shell scripting and diagnosing running services
- Experience building service-to-service interfaces using gRPC and Protocol Buffers
- Proficiency with message queues and streaming platforms
- Production experience with Snowflake MySQL and Redis
- Ability to read and reason about Java services
- Experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code in daily development
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering Mathematics or related technical field

Day to day
- Design, build, and operate Go services that power core APIs and data access paths across HTTP and gRPC
- Own service reliability, performance, and scalability as traffic and data volumes grow
- Build durable asynchronous processing for data-intensive workloads using queues and streams with strong delivery semantics and recovery patterns
- Enhance observability in Datadog with structured logging metrics tracing and health signals
- Build shared Go packages and service patterns with versioning documentation and backward compatibility
- Debug production issues and participate in on-call responsibilities for owned services
- Contribute to code reviews technical design discussions and engineering best practices
- Mentor other engineers and help raise the technical bar across the organization
- Contribute to AI-assisted software development best practices by reviewing and verifying tool output
