Requirements
- Build custom machine learning models using ML and NLP technology
- Design, implement, and document new ML/NLP modeling techniques
- Develop Back-end/server-side software to support AI solution development and serving
- Build internal frameworks, libraries, and infrastructure for rapid prototyping and new product delivery
- Review and adapt recent research in ML and NLP into prototypes and production solutions
- Review and improve the code of other engineers
- Develop custom models and AI/NLP solutions to meet business needs
- Design experiments and evaluations based on best practices in ML
- Carry out AI solution prototyping and experimentation
- Define and implement features to meet customer requirements with Product Team
- Build high-quality AI-based production software
- Identify customer needs, potential roadblocks and solutions with application engineering
- Support software solution lifecycle from an AI perspective
- Establish standards of practice in applied ML/AI to the life sciences industry
- Create educational content to improve AI literacy and guide AI usage
- Advise on AI for Parexel AI Labs
- Master’s or PhD in engineering or computer science with a focus on ML/NLP or equivalent qualification/experience
- Strong skills in ML, NLP, Deep Learning, and deploying NLP systems
- Strong CS fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems
- Proficiency in probability, statistical NLP algorithms, and modern ML technologies
- Software engineering skills to write production ready code, architect packages, and make sound architectural choices
- Knowledge of Python and scientific computing packages (pytorch, numpy, scikit-learn, tensorflow)
- Experience with database technologies (ElasticSearch, Neo4j, SQL)
- Excellent communication skills
- Flexible attitude towards work assignments and new learning
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload with detail
- Willingness to work in a matrix environment
- Experience as an NLP Engineer or Machine Learning Engineer in a commercial setting essential
- Advanced experience with tools like Git, Github, AWS or Azure, JIRA, Confluence, Docker
- High expertise in Python
- Experience producing high-quality code in shared context
- Up to date with ML and NLP techniques/models
- Research experience in Machine Learning/AI (NLP) preferred
- Leading delivery of production-quality AI solutions and models in a professional engineering context

Day to day
- Develop AI Labs’ machine learning platform and create AI-based solutions and models for high impact areas in Parexel’s business.
- Write, test, and release code and internal libraries according to the technology and product roadmaps.
- Work collaboratively with application engineering, product, and business stakeholders to develop innovative ML solutions and models from research to POC to production.
- Serve as experts within Parexel, driving AI education and providing expert guidance across the company.
