Requirements
- 8+ years of OSP design experience with long-haul or middle-mile fiber
- Experience managing contracted design firms on large-scale projects
- Proficiency with GIS platforms AutoCAD QGIS VETRO ArcGIS or equivalent
- Working knowledge of fiber optic transmission fundamentals including link budgeting OTDR analysis and span analysis
- Experience with permitting across federal state and local jurisdictions including USACE FHWA railroad and utility coordination
- Experience designing or overseeing inline amplification huts or similar remote equipment enclosures
- Familiarity with data center colocation environments and coordination on power cooling and capacity
- Working knowledge of NEC Telcordia Uptime Institute Tier classifications and TIA-942
- Ability to manage multiple large concurrent projects and maintain schedules and deliverables
- Experience serving as a technical point of contact with external clients
- Proficiency in MS Office and Google Earth
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel

Day to day
- Own the end-to-end design and planning of long-haul and metro fiber networks from concept through construction completion.
- Oversee contracted design and construction firms while coordinating route selection permitting construction methods strand maps splice diagrams conduit profiles and as-built documentation.
- Serve as the technical authority and primary liaison with hyperscale clients permitting agencies railroads right-of-way holders and internal teams to keep concurrent projects on schedule and standard.
- Review submittals drawings RFIs and scope changes maintain quality assurance manage facilities design coordination and support a strong safety culture in the field.
