Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree and at least four years of experience in consultancy roles or business journalism in a deadline-driven environment is required.
  • Experience in long-form report writing that leverages data analysis and a background in eCommerce, payments, and/or financial technology in the B2B and B2C spaces.
  • Intellectually curious and a quick learner with a knack for recognizing newsy and important insights and communicating them in a way that draws readers’ attention.
  • Critical thinker who is creative to the core and possesses strong presentation and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work and write well while prioritizing multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Comprehension of statistics and data, with the ability to write about them accurately and in a compelling way to illustrate important findings and trends.
  • Ability to collaborate and coordinate with teammates across multiple departments and offices.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite; experience with Monday.com or other business communication platforms is a plus.

Day to day

  • Analyze industry trends and weave them into top-quality authoritative, long-form narratives targeted to a professional business audience.
  • Use PYMNTS.com proprietary analytics and industry research to prepare fact-based, crisp, and punchy briefs that uncover the 'So what?' and the 'Why?' on the latest topics and trends across the payments, FinTech, and eCommerce ecosystems.
  • Take ownership of writing projects from start to finish, working collaboratively with analysts, writers, editors, designers, and client services teammates in a deadline-driven professional environment.
  • Work effectively on several writing projects concurrently.
