- Strong experience building and delivering production-grade REST APIs
- Commercial experience with modern backend technologies, especially Python/FastAPI
- Expertise designing and maintaining PostgreSQL databases
- Experience integrating third-party APIs and external services
- Strong automated testing practices across unit, integration, and API testing
- Experience building and deploying containerised applications using Docker
- Proven success working in Agile, cross-functional engineering environments
- API-first development and OpenAPI design principles
- Modern architecture patterns and scalable service design
- Database modelling ORM frameworks and migration tooling
- Security best practices including authentication authorisation encryption and secrets management
- Cloud platforms experience especially Azure
- CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices
- Observability monitoring logging and performance optimisation

Day to day
- Designs and builds scalable backend services and APIs for a modern healthcare platform
- Owns features from concept through deployment and continuous improvement in a cloud-native environment
- Collaborates closely with Product QA DevOps and Engineering teams to improve performance reliability and security
- Contributes to technical design discussions code reviews and clear API documentation
