Requirements
- 6+ years building and operating production-grade software systems
- Strong backend development experience in PHP
- Ability to work language-agnostically and learn new languages frameworks and codebases quickly
- Experience with reliable scalable highly available systems
- Experience designing or contributing to observability tooling alerting strategies or reliability standards
- Understanding of distributed system fundamentals including failure modes latency capacity and graceful degradation
- Experience improving incident response post-incident reviews and preventative engineering
- Strong knowledge of relational databases and data access patterns
- Hands-on experience deploying and operating services in cloud environments such as AWS
- Familiarity with secure compliance-aware development practices such as PCI SOC 2 and OWASP
- Ability to influence technical direction across teams through clear communication sound judgment and collaboration

Day to day
- Design and build reliability frameworks tooling and standards that strengthen uptime performance and operational confidence
- Drive proactive reliability improvements that emphasize prevention early detection and fast recovery
- Partner with engineering teams to embed reliability into system design development practices deployment workflows and incident learning
- Establish observability practices and contribute hands-on to production codebases internal tools and platform services
