Requirements
- Strong Linux expertise including distributions file systems memory management and package management
- Advanced knowledge of SQL and data warehousing concepts
- Solid understanding of Vertica columnar architecture including projections encoding and compression
- Experience using Vertica Management Console and performance tuning tools
- Familiarity with cloud environments especially object storage technologies
- Understanding of TCP/IP networking and containerized environments such as Kubernetes
- Prior hands-on experience supporting or working with Vertica is strongly preferred

Day to day
- Provide advanced Tier 3 support for complex Vertica customer environments
- Independently troubleshoot escalated technical issues and diagnose system bottlenecks
- Perform detailed root-cause analysis and mentor junior engineers to improve team effectiveness
