Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or related field or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of professional software development experience building enterprise-grade applications with hands-on coding and technical leadership
  • 5+ years of consulting experience leading application architecture engagements for external clients or comparable product organization experience
  • Deep fluency in software design patterns and architectural paradigms including microservices DDD event sourcing CQRS API-first design and twelve-factor methodology
  • 4+ years of hands-on AWS experience with Lambda API Gateway ECS Fargate Step Functions SQS SNS EventBridge DynamoDB Aurora ElastiCache and S3
  • Strong data modeling and data architecture skills at the application tier including relational and NoSQL schema design caching and event-driven data flows
  • Experience designing containerized application architectures and understanding when to choose containers serverless or traditional compute
  • Experience building fault-tolerant zero-downtime distributed systems with resilience patterns such as circuit breakers bulkheads retry backoff and graceful degradation
  • Ability to define and enforce API contracts interface boundaries and service-level integration standards across multi-team efforts
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex architecture concepts to technical and non-technical audiences

Day to day

  • Lead technical discovery sessions to uncover requirements integration constraints and system behaviors
  • Define cloud-native application architecture including service decomposition API design data modeling and inter-service communication patterns
  • Establish engineering standards and make binding technical decisions at the code framework and platform level for production-grade AWS systems
  • Consult with stakeholders create technical context for delivery teams and shape reusable architectural patterns that accelerate modernization
