Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of professional software engineering experience or equivalent experience
- Strong backend development experience using Java and Spring Boot
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices
- Experience building enterprise applications using object-oriented programming principles
- Experience with relational databases such as Oracle PostgreSQL or Microsoft SQL Server
- Experience working within Agile software development environments
- Experience using Git-based version control and collaborative development workflows
- Experience with automated testing debugging and software troubleshooting
- Experience participating in code reviews and following secure software development practices
- Strong problem-solving analytical and communication skills
- U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a DHS Public Trust
- Must have resided within the United States for at least three of the previous five years

Day to day
- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend applications and APIs for mission-critical federal digital services.
- Modernize legacy systems and enhance existing services while improving reliability and security.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional Agile teams to deliver clean, maintainable, well-tested software and support production operations.
