Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering
  • Previous engineering management experience required
  • Experience in leadership, coaching, and mentoring software development teams to produce working software together
  • Experience with fostering a strong engineering culture in an agile dev-ops environment
  • Strong understanding of Release management, environmental planning, and management in a cloud environment
  • Strong understanding of Restful API design practices
  • Experience designing and delivering distributed systems
  • Experience with ecommerce systems (Shopify, Magento, CommerceCloud)
  • Experience with enterprise software architecture (OMS, ERP, etc)
  • Proven track record of shipping highly scalable and reliable services/systems
  • Experience in leading teams to implement solutions on a Cloud-based platform
  • Experience operating a Microservice Architecture on Kubernetes or other container orchestration platform
  • Understanding of Scrum and the Empirical Process

Day to day

  • Develop people and teams through coaching, mentoring, feedback, and performance management
  • Work closely with teams, product managers, agile coaches, and other stakeholders to ensure we deliver high-value software solutions
  • Work with senior engineers to establish standards and best practices, drive innovation, and design enterprise architecture
  • Work with leaders to grow a strong engineering culture in a cross-functional agile environment
  • Work with engineers to grow a culture where we value measurement as a means to learn and grow
