Remote Software Tester Job in Greater Seattle Guidacent, Inc.

Who you are

• Develop and execute test cases for the IDL Crosswalk to ensure accurate translation of chart of account values.
• Validate both forward and reverse translations between old and new chart of accounts.
• Create detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on system requirements and design specifications.
• Support the development of a robust test strategy.
• Execute test cases and document results, including defects identified, their severity, and steps to reproduce.
• Use appropriate testing tools to track and manage defects, ensuring timely resolution in collaboration with developers.
• Verify data conversion and migration processes to ensure data integrity and accuracy during the transition from the old to the new financial system.
• Validate data consistency and correctness post-migration.
• Work closely with project stakeholders, including developers, business analysts, and project managers, to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
• Regularly communicate test progress, issues, and risks to the project team and stakeholders.
• Identify areas for improvement in the testing process and suggest enhancements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
• Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging trends in software testing to bring innovative solutions to the project.

What the job involves

• This role will participate in the project to replace our client's current financial system and integrate the new system with existing legacy systems.
• Testing of the 'IDL Crosswalk' middleware for translating old chart of account values to new values and vice versa is a key component of the role.
• The Software Tester will conduct comprehensive testing of the new financial system to ensure it meets functional, performance, and security requirements and perform integration testing between the new financial system and existing legacy systems to ensure seamless data flow and functionality.
