Requirements
- 5+ years designing and implementing highly scalable available and fault-tolerant PostgreSQL databases
- Deep PostgreSQL implementation experience including schema and data modeling query performance and zero-downtime migrations
- Strong PostgreSQL operational tuning skills including connection pooling autovacuum indexing bloat control and database flags
- Experience with PostgreSQL-backed job queues or comparable async worker frameworks
- Strong Go experience including idiomatic concurrency context generics and modules
- Experience with gRPC and Protocol Buffers including service design streaming RPCs and schema evolution
- Experience with event-driven and asynchronous architectures including messaging background workers and dead-letter handling
- Strong testing discipline in Go including table-driven tests mocks fakes and integration tests
- Hands-on GCP experience with AlloyDB Cloud SQL and related services is strongly preferred
- Experience with Docker ko Kaniko buildx and image promotion workflows is strongly preferred
- Experience automating database deployment and management with Terraform is strongly preferred
- Experience managing database upgrades major version migrations and patch deployments with minimal downtime is strongly preferred

Day to day
- Own the PostgreSQL data layer end to end from schema design through production operations.
- Drive query performance and zero-downtime migrations while tuning for scale and reliability.
- Build and operate Postgres-backed queues and event-driven asynchronous systems that remain correct under load.
- Automate database deployment configuration and management across environments using Infrastructure as Code and collaborate closely with backend engineers.
