Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience in voice engineering and telecommunications with expertise in Nortel and Cisco voice systems
- Strong understanding of VoIP protocols and technologies including SIP RTP and H.323
- Hands-on experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) Cisco Unity Connection and Cisco Voice Gateways
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities

Day to day
- Assist in planning and executing the transition from Nortel to Cisco voice infrastructure
- Evaluate existing Nortel voice systems and develop migration strategies to Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) platform
- Configure and deploy Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) and other Cisco voice components to support VoIP services
- Integrate Cisco voice systems with existing network infrastructure and applications
- Optimize voice network performance and quality of service (QoS) parameters to ensure optimal voice call quality and reliability
- Troubleshoot and resolve voice-related issues and outages in a timely manner
- Document configurations procedures and best practices for voice system administration and operation
- Provide training and support to end-users and IT staff on the use and management of Cisco voice systems
