Requirements
- At least three years of experience managing internal tooling or DevEx teams
- Strong software engineering experience preferably in Python environments
- Experience treating internal tools as products with surveys adoption metrics and roadmaps
- Demonstrable people management experience including coaching performance evaluation mentorship and career development
- Relevant project management experience with prioritisation schedules deadlines and cross-functional communication
- Hands-on experience with modern CI/CD systems and the tradeoffs between speed reliability and cost
- Experience with developer productivity tooling such as local environments build systems IDE tooling dependency management and observability
- Working knowledge of Kubernetes and containerised deployments in deployment pipelines
- Familiarity with DORA metrics the SPACE framework or DX Core 4 and a clear view of what to measure and not measure
- Timezone aligned to GMT-1 to GMT+3 or willingness to align hours
- Willingness to travel to Africa annually for about one week
- Work authorization and reliable internet access

Day to day
- Lead the Developer Experience team to improve the tools and processes engineers use to ship value quickly and reliably
- Treat the developer platform as a product for internal customers by running surveys measuring adoption and prioritising improvements by impact
- Shape the end-to-end development process from local coding to safe production releases across multiple countries
- Pragmatically assess AI-assisted development opportunities and introduce them only when they clearly reduce toil or improve quality
